Just a quick blog for right now....
I am getting so nervous. We are going to Kansas City on Tuesday to find a place to live. We aren't coming home till we find a house so pray it goes quick and easy! I am wanting to get moved as soon as possible, I am getting so nervous that if my water breaks before we move that the baby won't see the doctor's he needs to right away. Who know's what would happen, or could happen.
I've tried so hard to be strong for my family, but I am breaking down inside. I just need to get moved so I can feel okay about everyday living! As long as we are by the hospital and the surgeons I will feel so much better.
I had my baby shower yesterday, that's a whole other story I will blog about it later!

So Tired...
I haven't had any pregnancy symptoms this whole pregnancy until now at 29 weeks! I'm not sure if it's because I just got over the stomach flu, and also since I am on my feet now for the first time in 8 weeks since my ankle surgery...but I am sooooooo nauseous every time I move!
I told Chris we only have about 7 weeks until Baby David is here and we were both amazed at how little time we have to prepare. We need almost everything, I do have a bassinet and some clothes but that's it. This weekend is our baby shower and I hope our friends help us get prepared before the big move!
The plan as of now is going to Kansas City next week to look for a house. I've been checking on Craigslist, and other sites but I think the best bet is just to get up there and start calling on signs we see. And since we don't know the area I think going to the hospital, and working our way out into the neighborhoods and seeing what is there is the best bet.
I don't have any real updates right now. Waiting on the cardiologist in Kansas City to set us up with an appointment. Please continue to pray for us!

Meet BIG SISTER!
Our first intro is David's big sister Nadine :) He does have other siblings (who I will introduce you all to eventually) but Nadine will be his roomie for awhile!
Nadine is our drama queen, our lil miss talks all the time, loves her baby brother more than words can say. And she has promised to teach him all about Alyssa, his other big sissy who is in Heaven. She just started school this year, and other than problems with her talking too much in class she does great!
And here she is holding a picture of herself as a baby. Hmmm think David will look the same? Wait and see :)

Heart Doctor...
We saw the heart doctor today and let me say he was the best doctor to date! I was so grateful at how patient, and willing to explain everything to us he was. Here are the new updates -
1. I will have to deliver in Kansas City, and the doctor agreed we should move as soon as possible to start care up there.
2. At this point David's diagnosis is Tetralogy of Fallot, pulmonary stenosis, and ventricular septal defect. This can change when he is born and they can get better images of his heart. It's closely related to DORV, and no matter what the diagnosis the only outcome is surgery.
3. Depending on David's condition when he is born there are 2 possible ways to go. First is he has open heart surgery if he is stable and able to go through surgery and they think he can't wait. Second is that he has a minor surgery to put a shunt in his heart, and then at about 5-6 months old he has the open heart surgery to correct the problem.
The doctor made us feel reassured that David will make it through this! Yes, it's a long road ahead of us, lots of hospital stays, lots of worrying...but he is going to make it. CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HIM!
So now I am trying to come up with as many ideas on fund raisers, etc., to help us get the money to move to Kansas City. Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated! Any donations, large or small will help us more than you can imagine. I don't know how I could ever repay any of you who decide to donate, but you will be in my prayers and when I win the lotto you will be the first on my list of pay-backs! If it were only that easy...
We still need your prayers and support, I will start to update more frequently on this page so you can get to know us better before David arrives :)

MRI Results...
After arguing with the girl in the high risk doctor's office that my results should be there, she decided to look and they were!
The doctor said that there is a narrowing of the canal that carries the fluid of his brain, and this is more common in boys. At this time his brain has no other abnormalities and no damage they can see to his brain! Thank you GOD! He will have to have a shunt put in when he is born, but we can deal with that.
As for his heart, I have an appointment on Thursday and we will know more about what is going to happen with that. Since we don't have a Pediatric Cardio Surgeon anywhere near us, I feel we still have to move as soon as we can. If he has a heart problem, even if we wait a couple months for surgery, I truly feel in my heart we need to start out his lil life being with the doctors that will be able to treat him.
Thank you for the prayers and I will be back with updates as I know them!

No Results Yet...
Just wanted everyone to know that I haven't recieved any results yet on the MRI. Praying we get them tomorrow so I won't be so anxious waiting.
I also have an appointment with the pediatric cardiologist for Thursday.
Continue to keep us in your prayers!

Baby David
This week at our 27 week ultrasound our doctor told us what every parent dreads. There is something wrong with our baby. Our family has been through so much in this last year, with loosing our precious baby girl Alyssa to prematurity, and the recent car accident that has turned our lives upside down. Our strength has been in knowing soon we will have our son here with us and things are going to get better.
At this time we know the basics. David has a heart defect called Double Outlet Right Ventricle. He will have to have open heart surgery, and possible multiple surgeries to correct it.
What Is It?
Double Outlet Right Ventricle is a congenital heart defect in which both the aorta and the pulmonary artery exit from the right ventricle. In the normal heart, the aorta leaves the left ventricle and the pulmonary artery leaves the right ventricle.
In addition, there is a large ventricular septal defect (VSD), or hole in the muscle wall (septum) that separates the right and left ventricles.
We are also having an MRI done today. My sweet baby also has fluid around his brain, and his spine is curved with scoliosis. The fluid on the brain is what's concerning, but on a positive note when we had our 18 week ultrasound his brain was forming perfect! The MRI will tell us if there is any damage, and if it is severe we might have to deliver him early to help him get the fluid out. How that will be done is still up in the air until after the MRI.
I also am going to be seeing a pediatric cardiologist next week who will start coordinating everything.
The doctor recommended we move to Kansas City as soon as we can. This is where I would have to deliver David (the doctors here are unable to treat him) and where he would be in the children's hospital. If we stayed here there are lots of bad outcomes that she went through with us, including David not recieving the care he needs in time.
Because of the car accident we are in a horrible financial situation, as a lot of people are right now. I've set up a DONATE button on this page for those who would like to help. Most of all we need PRAYERS!
I will update this page with all new info from now until Baby David is home with us healthy!
